Luana Graves Sellars is a community activist and founder of the Lowcountry Gullah Foundation; she advocates for the Gullah, as well as coordinating communication between leadership and the Gullah community.
To date, she has written more than 80 articles on the island’s Gullah families and culture. She shares her Gullah knowledge and passion for the culture by teaching classes for Osher Life Long Learning, as well as other speaking requests. Her foundation raises funds for Gullah Heirs Property, so those multi-generational families can keep their land.
