The H.O.P.E. Life Center is a 20 year vision to provide a niche wellness service and specialization to the largely undeserved cancer patient population. Nationwide, the healthcare community offers tremendous resources and education for the prevention and treatment of cancer, but the long-lasting scars left by treatment are often left unrecognized and untreated.
I wanted a facility to bridge the gap by offering physical, nutritional, social, and wellness programs for individuals and their families who are bravely fighting or fought this disease. The emphasis is on offering these services with compassionate individuals. They will respect and empathize with those who are experiencing the long-term disabling effects caused by their battle with cancer.
With the help of Frank Lipari, my SCORE mentor, I felt confident I had created a competent business plan. Frank also assisted with creating a strategic procedural plan on the steps that needed to be done to open my facility. He also networked me to the financial institution that he felt I would partner with best. With SCORE’s help I opened my doors and started treating patients 5 months after my first visit with him.

Frank Lipari and SCORE helped in solidifying my business plan, networking with needed financial institutions for funding, and providing ongoing instructional opportunities. I am taking advantage of these tutorials and training to promote and grow my business.
We recognized an untapped patient population that has been largely ignored. There are 14.5 million people in the United States who have been touched and survived cancer treatment. For many of these individuals, due to improved screening methods, they felt relatively healthy at their time of diagnosis. But after going through surgeries, chemotherapies, and burning radiation treatment that results in them feeling at their physically worst condition, the medical community tells them to celebrate and be happy that they survived. They are left alone to try to find a “New Normal” in their physical health. The H.O.P.E. Life Center fills this gap by being the bridge to Helping Oncology Patients Enjoy Life and learning to start “Thriving Beyond Surviving”.
Dennis Ittenbach (owner) has over 20 years experience working with complex medical patients and over 15 years specializing in treating oncology & lymphedema patients.
The H.O.P.E. personnel have specialized certification training specific to the needs of cancer, Lymphedema, and general patient populations and share the same vision towards the goals of the business.
Frank has been great since our first meeting. Not only did Frank utilize his own talents, but accessed the talents of other SCORE mentors, to review the various aspects of business plan and was instrumental in the early phase of my start-up. He has consistently kept me updated on webinars and seminars available through SCORE that I have often taken advantage of to further my business and recently met with me to review 1,3, and 5-year strategic planning initiatives.
